Oh my goodness. I’ve been invited to a few group interviews to become a Flight Attendant with three separate airlines (so far). One is at the end of August, one I’m waiting to hear back from, hopefully by Monday some time and the other said “no, thank you” after a full five hour day (ouch). You never know why you didn’t get the job. It could be that you didn’t bond with the person interviewing you. It could be that you didn’t make good eye contact, it could be that your makeup was slightly smudged (I noticed when I got back to my car that I had a little smudgy mascara under both of my eyes because it was freakin’ 90 degrees that day!) Maybe they didn’t like that my passport wasn’t in my hands but “in the mail” on the day of my interview. Perhaps they were only hiring a few people that day and I missed one word that they were looking for that day. I obsessed a little about why I was told “no” after my interviews. I had felt confident that they were going to shake my hand and say “welcome”. It turns out it could be for so many different reasons that you basically have nothing to hold on to. Luckily, they encourage you to reapply often. So, that’s what I will do. In 90 days I will reapply and try to be as perfect as ever in my answers and in my appearance.
Today I went to CostCo and got my passport photo taken, filled out my forms and went to City Hall and applied and “expedited” my passport. I can’t wait to get it in my hands! Now I can say, “yes” to the questions, do you have a current passport available.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
